Registration open for the Fira Experimenta 2024 of the University of Valencia
ANA SERRA// Once again this year, the Faculty of Physics of the University of Valencia organizes the Experimenta Fair-Contest in April aimed at ESO, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and intermediate level training cycles. The registration period will remain open until January 29. To participate, it is necessary to present a description of a project in the STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) that reveals some physical principle. Up to four students can participate in each project. The contest has also established two forms of participation, physics demonstrations and experiments and technological application projects.
XIX edition
For each of the two participation modalities there is a category depending on the educational level of the participants. The four prizes awarded by the jury amount to €600 for a group of 4 students, and the public prize is €400 for a group of 4 (€100 per participant). Among the recognitions, gifts will also be given to teachers with winning projects and the Department of Education recognizes this extraordinary dedication to its students as hours of scientific school research projects.
This edition will take place at the Valencia Science Museum on April 21. The event, which emerged in 2005 with the aim of involving students in the World Year of Physics, has now become an annual competition and this year celebrates its nineteenth edition. As the organizing committee explains, around 400 students organized into 80-90 groups participate in this event. Furthermore, women have made up 50% of the participants for some years.
