The CONFIDES project will carry out a citizen consultation at the University of Valencia’s Botanical Garden, involving the participation of 100 individuals who represent the cultural, gender, and academic diversity of Spanish society. Citizens will be selected from the database generated and stored under data protection regulations and given access to microdata generated by projects led by the institution for reproducibility and reuse within the European project CONCISE. The objective is to conduct a consultation on two of the same topics addressed in 2019, namely climate change and vaccines, to compare changes in public perception. This considers the increased circulation of misinformation, conspiracy theories, and disinformation related to COVID-19. Additionally, a new topic of analysis has been incorporated to assess citizens’ level of trust and perception regarding AI. The consultation will be conducted through discussion groups to generate a substantial volume of transcription pages that can be analysed using corpus linguistics software to compare pre and post-pandemic data.

GOALS
To compare how the public's trust in the science information they receive from the media has evolved since the COVID-19 pandemic.
To analyse the changes in the perception of science communication before and after COVID-19. We will examine the data using previous studies such as CONCISE results.
To study the arguments used by citizens to justify denialism through two controversial topics such as vaccines and climate change.
To assess which information channels they consider the most reliable.
Evaluate the sources of information they consider the most truthful when they receive information about IA.
